Map: CTF Marsland v1 Author: UpsiAiiyah Dual-objective, capture-the-flag (CTF) map Published: October 30, 2025 Remake of "CTF Outland b2" by 'StoerFaktoR Tested with ET Legacy 2.83.2 and ET 2.60 Map has only been tested locally, not on public servers Map size: 5632 x 5632 Supports up to 64 players Omnibot waypoints are not yet available as of the published date As a temporary solution the "ctf_outland_b2" waypoints will mostly work ========================================================================= ============================== OBJECTIVES =============================== ========================================================================= The goal is to either: - Collect 100 cubes before your opponents do, or - Have more cubes collected than your opponents after 12 minutes. Cubes are located above the enemy spawn. Bring the enemy’s cube to your team’s cube location. Unlike typical CTF maps, teams can carry multiple cubes at once. ========================================================================= =================== DIFFERENCES FROM “CTF OUTLAND B2" =================== ========================================================================= - Mars-themed visual overhaul - Expanded accessibility with additional paths - Gravity reduced to 580 (default is 800) - Score cap increased from 20 to 100 for large-scale play - Scoreboard now visible in-map and in limbo camera - Flags replaced with high-visibility cubes - Round time reduced from 20 to 12 minutes - Respawn time reduced from 10 to 6 seconds - Corrected symmetry ========================================================================= ============================ MAP INSPIRATION ============================ ========================================================================= Outland is one of my favorite CTF maps due to the larger score cap (20), when it is typically around 3. I also like to play with as many bots as possible (63) no matter the size or objectives of the map. Because of this, the maps would end way too soon. On slopes, the full 64×64×64 size may briefly reveal itself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Players can hide inside the cubes" Just don’t do it. I could’ve added clip brushes, but they disrupt the flow of the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The scoreboard doesn't display the scores in the limbo menu camera when you are inside the spawn area" I have no idea why. It does help discourage idling in the spawn though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "When time expires, Allies always win, no matter what" In CTF, ties are possible and ET does not like ties. A team must be declared the winner, and I chose Allies. Just go by what the scoreboard says. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "There is repetition in some of the CTF announcements" Yes, these are the culprits: sound/vo/general/allies/hq_objsec.wav sound/vo/general/allies/hq_objtaken.wav sound/vo/general/axis/hq_objsec.wav sound/vo/general/axis/hq_objtaken.wav If it's annoying you can create a small PK3 that overrides those sounds with silent tracks ================================== END ==================================
