  6. Same experience for me. The lagometer is "clean" but sometime you just throw balls to the bin. If I remember it's something on the server side with snaps 20 / 40 . If you play on ETL2, the feeling should be better (if there's some players and not bots :D)
  7. Just give us the original Radar map back, with r_drawfoliage 0. This Summer map is horrible to play. Maybe i'm getting old but I see nothing on it (Allies or Axis). Colors are really bad. Bushes are roughly drawn . Enemies can hide in them. War is not fun anymore
  8. For me the real problem is to capture the first flag. It may be cool to use a satchel with a cover instead of a dyna to blow the gate (like CAEN). So then flag is automaticaly captured. I like the sudden death script for a public server. Like in rugby, you finish the action and then the game is over.

  10. Agree with Inter. Maybe on ETL1 : limit soldiers to only one per team, No more mortar / panz etc... Engi with 4 nades or less For me, this rule would change the game too much, at least compared to the original game I played (Etpro) . Maybe people should learn to gib more. ==> more gib less revive

  15. Did someone try this "ETe" ? Compatible with ETL, I tried quickly this morning. It took my "ET 2.60b" repository and config.   17. It works with 64bits binary but I want to understand why it doesnt work with 2.81 / 32 bits (2.77 32 bits works).

Hello I have a little problem with ETL 281 i386 with Ubuntu (22.04 LTS) : I can't start the game : SDL build version 2.24.1 - link version 2.24.1 0 SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_VIDEO) FAILED (No available video device) 0 Setting r_mode -2 failed, falling back on r_mode 4 0 SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_VIDEO) FAILED (No available video device) 0 ----- Client Shutdown ---------- No problem with ETL 277 / ET 2.6B or ETL 281x64. In ETL 277 it's SDL 2.0.x and ETL 2.8.1 is SDL 2.24.1. On my laptop I have : ls -al /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2-2.0.so : /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libSDL2-2.0.so -> libSDL2-2.0.so.0 maybe I need to search on this way but ... Any idea ? Thanks David
  20. Hello, do you mean something like a stopwatch game (like ETpro ? Sorry I didnt participate to a scrim since 2009). If it exists on ETlegacy it would be great : a public stopwatch server. But anyway, I prefer ETL2 : less players, less random stuffs from nowhere and a better "touch" feeling and no map like Venice. Just need to be more populate.
  21. Completely agree with this. This could avoid situation on Caen where Allies can shoot from their spawn with MG42/ mortar and launch FFE in the courtyard, which give an unfair advantage to Allies. The final stage with an obj near the allies spawn is really tricky on a 20vs20 server and the new "anti SK" system is really accurate. As an Axis you barely can't use FFE / AS to clean this zone without being warned, even if it's to clean the Allies rooftop where the obj is hidden So the map is full heavy weapons for Allies and a butchery for Axis, even more now. (And Yes I was auto kicked yesterday on this map, I was testing the sensibility of the system : it's really sensible and i like it)

  24. First suggestion : disable this SR on this maps if it's possible That's the worst frustrating thing I saw since I came back on ET. I know, everybody says : it doesnt matter BUT ... it does matter. It's something we don't talk about but I think it generates a lot of bad stuff. Just watch when a team loose, how many players go to spec ? how many are waiting to join the "right" team ? When a new map is voted, everybody goes to spec too. Why ? Probably because you don't want to loose -0.20 on an unknow map. Well that said, I just played on a giant new map and I lost -0.15 playing with 3 bots that didn't know where to go, me neither. So I ragequit at the end
