    I quickly read it and it looks like people were tired of arty spam so requested longer times between shots, so a slower charge time. I remember the spam being pretty bad for some reason. Alas this affected ammo given too. The cvar looks like the answer but this was around the time we had a few issues with Legacy versions and malicious persons abusing vulnerabilities in the old version, and I guess it got forgotten about due to the severity of that issue.

     

    We can look at it again, maybe :) 

     

    "set team_maxAirstrikes "1" means how many times per minute arty/air can be successfully called, apparently.

     
  2. Given the idiot on the server cheating atm I would say yes. He looks like the kind of no life basement dweller that will keep it up, not the usual that give up after a little time.

     

    I feel like level 2 is too low to give it to but idk people on the server. We need to keep on top of people who abuse this though. Make some kind of post about the changes but not why (don't want to give the cheater attention), and the consequences on abusing it. Instant removal of level and no chance to regain it or something.

    These times are also catered to a 20v20 server, and not the 5v5 or so that nitmod averages. It's 100 times easier to do the objective when you have 7 less people to go through and 20 less nades to avoid.

    When you look at maps check out this link, if it works. Average time of each map. Obviously each map has different total time but you get the jist. Let's look at Supply, it lasts 13.6 minutes on average. I think the total time is 16 mins. It's usually a hard map for the attacker anyways, do we need to reduce that average? Or am I being too analytical? :D

    Yeah I saw and reported that but idk why it happens. The map and the omnibots have remained the same since forever for that map.

     

    In my opinion, the medic change was a huge shake up of the server. Let the dust settle on that, let people find out the new playstyle and so on. Changing too much at once can be detrimental.

    I play, or played, a mash up of medic to frag, solider to be lazy, or engi to do the obj or be a pain. I was never great at any but I feel like I was decent if I tried.     If we increase say Venice spawn times by 2-6 seconds for Axis like suggested, how would that effect them spawning at that first spawn and defending it? They would be crippled imo. if I play engi I sometimes I don't have time to build and plant mines as Axis before the tank is a the gate. It's the bank area that is a slog. How do I fix that? I don't know. Give Allies a tunnel to blow in to the bank as well, something that takes Axis away from sitting around the courtyard :D Maps are most balanced when there isn't 1 or 2 attack points in an open space that bottleneck in to 1.

    And, as suggested, Deli spawn times. Axis spawn too quick then there's no point, but spawn to slow then they can't defend either the flag or the button. Believe me we have tried most combinations of spawn times on the popular maps and settled on what works, the majority of the time. The majority of time being the key phrase here. You can cap the flag in the first spawn allies have and hold it but it could still be a long slog to both tap the button and hold the truck.

     

     

    All is just my opinion of course and no reflection to what is what.

    As you know I am an idiot. As far as I could tell the script additions were on the server on the goldrush GA map script, they were just like 8 lines lower down than github stated. I figure these code monkeys are very specific about where things go so I moved said line up the script.

    If the script works, bow down to me. If it deletes all TM data blame Nanaa.

  6. Was the banner section a part of ET before the hud update for Legacy? Never seen a server use it before, other clans included. It has been a while since I paid attention to be fair and my memory is shoddy in my old age.

     

    Wait, does the banner section update like, baserace scores for example? Or Cluedo rooms?

    The stranger's scarf blows in the wind, the distinctive red and white. The colours of the enemy. 

    "Can I come in?" The stranger asks. "I have Vaux..."

    After a slight hesitation and making sure his child is shielded, Charlie allows the stranger to enter his home. He didn't bring any decent beer, but it was something. The stranger looks around his home and says, "Nice place". Charlie, without words, ushers him to the coffee table in the sitting room.

    In a scene of big bollocks, the stranger puts his Sunderland scarf on the table. Charlie replies with his Newcastle scarf. No words are spoken but chests are puffed. Steven is stunned.

    "Hmph. You know who I am?" The stranger asks.

    Charlie grunts. "A Mackem. Flesh Pulse."

  9. We have like 30 maps on rotation. If there's too few maps to vote from in the endgame then you may never see your favourite maps all night. It's at 10 so people can see some unusual/newer maps but also see maybe the more played maps at the same time too.

  10. We can change set g_minMapAge "10" to something more but it wouldn't be beneficial imo. Depending on what gets voted for, 10 maps could be longer than a players play time so they will never see a map they'd like to play. 10 - 12 seems to be the sweet spot after all the fiddling we have done over the years. I don't think we'll ever move from the map vote system, I mean we always want people to have the most input they can.

     

    If a map is good then it will get played. Take Pirates for example - that was an addition years ago and proved to be a pretty decent success. Decay is another one that springs to mind for smaller games. Unfortunately ET is an old game and any maps has either already been tried or isn't working/suitable for a large public server. We will always chop and change maps but we can never force people to play them and expect to keep a healthy server.

    The main objective of the map is to steal/secure the docs right? Why don't we just photocopy and share the docs between the teams? It'll save 24 minutes of heartache and needless deaths. Heck axis could photocopy fake docs and allies would never know until they're having tea and crumpets in the evening.

     

  12. You evil tyrants aka "admins" never let me add minas to any server so I have to enjoy myself in private. Many hours of fun can be had on Minas, you just have to believe. One map to rule them all.

     

    But can everyone not see what is going on now? TM are impersonating others!! This guys plays too well for it to be me. See all these unban requests lately, all these "unfair" bans? It's just admins pretending to be them and doing bad things!! Then these unfortunate people are taking the fall! Don't believe the lies! Question. Everything.

Back in the day on old Jaymod, love any of you guys that are left ❤️ Also met some complete arseholes along the way, I also love you guys I suppose :D Here's to another 10 years 🥰

  14. I know it's a sensitive topic so first off admins will be moderating it as such. Please keep any radical, racial or otherwise stupid comments to yourself.

    War is terrible and no-one condones what has happened. We wish all the best to Ukraine and highly oppose Russia for what it is doing.

    That said. What has young John from St. Petersburg done to warrant a ban from TM's ET servers? I understand stomping on the oligarchs and politicians and the people who side in favour of the war, but a general ban on a nations public who arguably disagree with the war doesn't seem fair to me. Even more so in this obscure little community in Wolfenstein:ET.
