Ah Gaunt, the times where OS X was much better are long gone

With equivalent hardware/software, you will get (a lot) more performance for your money with windows.

But I can't deny that OS X is much easier to use.

The timeout with hlsw is another issue I guess - I will change the treshold of the getstatus script.

Windows has also antivirus included

Antivirus is no guarantee at all... it's like anticheat software - not perfect...

Apple was longtime no target for criminals - but that has changed years ago.

Still osx is probably safer then windows.

battery power - macbook air should win

Overall macbook pro for final cut, macbook air for hours and hours of power

something completely else maybe freebsd on the laptop for information security. But for that you might just use firefox, be careful which wireless you join .. and overall be cautious.

The Fast Download for this particular server is not working. I don't know why, few days ago it was working - as much I know.

I have sent Gaming Deluxe a support Ticket, but they haven't replied yet (30mins ago), so I am moving the fast download for now to another server...

They are looking into it I am told. Till then fast download is server from somewhere else .. all good for now.

Hello All,

 

Some of you were affect this evening by a network outage, this was due to our ddos scrubbers not routing traffic to us. Whilst we would like to have had it resolved much faster, unfortunately it was largely out of our control.

 

As of approx 8.10pm GMT, traffic is now being routed to us again, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies to any and all affected. We will be doing everything we can to help ensure this doesn't happen again, and will be discussing a plan of action over the coming days.

 

Once again, please accept our apologies.

Got it, Threaded Optimization is the culprit. Set that to off and it should be fine again. At least I also had a dynamic 50-100 fps , and disabling that made it stable 100.

I have some issues. 

 

My ping was 10  now 35

 

my fps was 120 now 60

Charles just don't go out or drink(alcohol) like 2 weekends and you can buy a pc that runs ET at 125fps easy.

Still if its ATI, he will get low fps without that cvar fix.

Nah has to be some driver setting in Nvidia.

60-90 sounds like the driver toggles perfomance mode up and down..

You can define profiles for each game with Nvidia, I would suggest to try that for ET, and set it to "Power settings" to Max perfomance that should fix it - if it is what I think.

Unfortunately my NVIDIA control panel is in german, so I don't know the english names for those things, but it should be more or less what I wrote.

If its nvidia, roll back to an older driver.

If its ATI/AMD, in console /r_primitives 2

edit: well you could try same for nvidia?.. I don't know yet
