Ah living the dream, being paid for writing open source code (I assume). What exactly is your position (dev-ish or ops-ish) ?
It's tons of fun! I'm an SRE engineer in Devtools, working on infrastructure / openshift / cloud resources with a good sprinkle of devops. So more ops-ish, but also helping to drive good patterns for our dev teams
At first I thought working from home would involve a lot of slacking off / short days, turns out it's the exact opposite as I never leave work. The opportunity to work without pants and the ability to turn off the webcam and mute my co-workers makes up for it though

Do you use Fedora Linux?
I do on my personal laptop, but Centos on my work laptop which is the one that is docked most of the time.
Have been a Debian user for many years, have some servers on that too, so it's a mix of Fedora, Centos, RHEL & Debian.

A few pieces fell into place with that! Could never quite get a take on you
Gamename: fleshpulse (origin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVlH54733vQ)
Age: 36
Real name: Paul
Gender: Male
Profession: Principal Software Engineer @ Red Hat
About me: Frequented NL clan PIMP's Jaymod servers as a non-member for many years, decided to join when PIMP and TM merged. Hung around the servers for a while and really enjoyed my time with TM - many great people here. The past few years work and my girlfriend (old and new!) have been occupying the most of my time. I'm 50/50 British/Norwegian and currently a remote worker for an American software company called Red Hat. I enjoy growing herbs and vegetables in my Oslo apartment and on the balcony (when the seasons permit), juggling, geeking around, hanging out at my local hackerspace and the occasional computer game (as long as it runs on Linux).
To all new members: welcome - to all old: nice to see you

I have no time to play basically.
I've been starting watching some minecraft videos and have an itch to start playing something again. I can however not however be on frequently enough manage the social aspect of it.
Our last server suffered under a catastrophic disk failure (2x drives failed in short succession) and it hasn't quite revived since that. I do however have the hardware available as I got a better hosting deal after the crash, so I can also offer a place to host it (i7 - 32GB dedibox)
I keep saying that I will find the time to re-do my office and have a place to play some games during the cold winter months, but there's just so much work all the bloody time. I do have a few weeks of holiday left, I might take some time off around xmas to get this done, but we just landed a pretty big contract which will be a lot of work for me.
I'll follow this thread.

Welcome Varya. Thanks for sharing some personal details about yourself. Hope you have a good experience with TM

Mir: if you also do a /pex promote <name> and link launcher it should be ok for a little.

Server available again.

Yes indeed, pig was shown on the map in the same place for 24 hours
I am using the forge mod version of the map here instead of the bukkit plugin, so might get some surprises.
-
Seems fine for me.

I have set up a Hexxit server, to try it out. Everyone whitelisted on regular Muppetcraft can access it.
The server is not in the Muppetcraft launcher but can be reached with the technic launcher. (Select Hexxit from the mod pack list).
Connect to: mc.teammuppet.com:25525
Map at: http://mc.teammuppet.com:8110
I have not done much tweaking. I've replaced the server build, done some minor tweaking and added Dynmap + Worldborder plugin (border currently not visible on map).
Initially the server will stay up for a month or two, but this can be extended if requested.
Have fun
Edit: Added LWC. It auto protects blocks you put down. To remove protection do /cremove and left click. To add someone do /cmodify <name> and left click.
PS. For those wondering why these forums are so quiet I can inform you that we have a separate section for Muppetcraft members If you have a minecraft account with minecraft.net, don't hesitate to put a short application in the forums to get whitelisted and access to the MC forums.
-
Yes, sorry for slowness!
Accepted! And a big welcome!
Added you to forum group, more information is available there.
You are whitelisted and promoted to member
You need to run the Muppetcraft launcher available from http://mc.teammuppet.com/download/muppetcraft-1.1.exe
Activity is up and down, but you'll find people online either by logging in or checking http://mc.teammuppet.com:8123/
Throw a post up in the mc section if you have questions etc!

Did you update server permissions and forums?
EDIT: nvm, fixed on server.
