Ren Posted September 21, 2013 Author Report Posted September 21, 2013 Ok now i fixed it but i still have a problem: when I connect to no download ET starts to download the maps but after some seconds it crashes Quote
Slarty Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 Due to software changes done in Mac's OS after 10.7 / 10.8, you no longer can join pub servers. I suspect lack of Rosetta support is the issue Quote
Slarty Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Get Crossover and install ET with that, works for me even on pub Quote
MABRUN Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Don't buy a windows. You will not be able to play W:ET unless you:1) Download and install VMware fusion OR Parallels desktop2) install a bootcamp with windows on your mac partition, only for w:ET so 50GB is more then enough. Else Snow leopard is an option, but it cannot work on the new MacBooks. You bought an amazing computer but it's not for game play. btw Slarty: what's a crossover ? Quote
Slarty Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Crossover is a program that let you use windows programs without an win-OS installed. Works in the same way as Dosbox do, except its for newer programs/games. Can find it here --> http://www.codeweavers.com Quote
MABRUN Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I installed it, but i would need a a quick guide how to install W:et. Do i need to select the wolf enem terr exe ? or how do i do it ? Quote
Slarty Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Just download the game, either here or from splash damage, then double click on the exe file and the install process starts. Once its done, the game is good to go Quote
MABRUN Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Works like a charm! +1 How do you bind the Option key (ALT) on your macbook ? Quote
Slarty Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I don't I play on iMac and have no problem with the ALT key, if I press it nothing happens. What happens when you do? Quote
MABRUN Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 How can you play with such a lagg ? lolIf you don't lagg, did you edit the crossover install ? Quote
Slarty Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I have lag spikes from time to time, and if the map is huge and/or crowded then happens more often but other then that it runs just fine. I have a new iMac with all the raw brute force to run it, it might have something to do with your lag. Quote
MABRUN Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 There's a big chance that might be it. You just simply installed wolfenstein, you didn't do anything special with crossover? Quote
Slarty Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Nothing at all. You could always try to lower the settings, turn off sky etc and see if that helps. One more thing I haven't done, but are considering, is to tweak cfg but I think I need a cfg-wiz for that Quote
Smirre Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 You have a cfg allready, so here is what you need: http://antman.info/wolf/cvar/#.UnP6shBGjq4Feel free to ask if you need help. Quote
