Lagging Problem

Hi everyone,

You may have already seen it on the server or heard me complaining about it IG, but i've been having some serious lagging problems.

It's really annoying and it's frustrating as hell.

So when i'm in game, I can play normal for 5 or 6 seconds, then i lag 1 or 2 seconds, and this pattern keeps going on like this.

Normally my internet connection should be fine, i've been playing without a problem on the same internet connection for months.

I've been doing some speed-test-thingy's and this was the result: http://speedtest.net/result/1434036496.png

Don't know if that says anything but it proves it's not a slow connection (i think).

Also asked people on the server what I could do and they advised me to delete all trash and non-essential things out of the ET map.

So I just did this the easy way: Uninstall the game and then reinstall it.

This also didn't work. Still lagging like shit.

Also closed every application and program that was running in the background.

Only ET was running and still lagging!

My question:

Does anybody know what's going on here or can anyone help me out because it's really frustrating!

I made a post on possible solution to this the other day try and give them a go

1. do a speedtest to a nl server, do a ping test same site as speedtest

2. ping the etpub server using the command prompt ping 213.108.29.116 and do this tracert 213.108.29.116 ==> post results

3. post cfg etmain and etpub

wath also a common problem is what many laptops have

cpu overheating it slowdown every program on your PC

so clean you cpu and also the ventilator above it

what also a bugger can be is when you play games you use a lot of memory

so your memory can stock up so mush info that is gonna be full and work properly

take out you memory and let them stay out for 20 seconds so they can run out of electricity and reset

then if a desktop take off power supply and leave him of for 5 min

if a laptop take out baterie take of power supply let him stay off for 5 min

normally that will do a big difference

First of all, thanks for the help Derezzed, Hijack and Virus.

Also thanks for the help on the chat Mini and again, Virus. (and thanks for having so much patience with my not-so-computer-minded ass).

I just think the problem was my provider, slowing down my connection to prevent torrent dl.

Yes, very strange, but welcome to Belgium!

But on the upside, I cleaned out my ET and learned a few new things. (But I lost 70k exp , anyway)
