After getting a new pc and installing ET, I have a big problem.

Running windows 7, tried running ET on windows xp. Also changed a lot of settings in ET menu, with no luck.

Also is there a way to get my xp from my old pc?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like a known driver bug that affects several games (google your card model + "black texture"). You probably have the latest driver from your computer supplier (eg. HP), but there might be a newer driver from AMD itself.

Take a look at the following

of a similar bug in BF3. In the description it says:
Hey guys the bug has been solved!!

If you have a Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series or 6000 series you must only download the drivers from this link:

http://support.amd.c...reDriverV2.aspx

Install them and you will see increasing your performances, no bugs and a lot of new features in Catalyst Control Center like tassellation and others more :)

Ask me if you have problems :)

My specs:

Intel Core i5-450M (2.4GHz + 2.66GHz Turbo Boost)

4GB Ram

Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5650

In the following thread here are also some suggestions: http://www.tomshardw...-problem-skyrim

So my suggestions are:

1. First try to play with the texture settings. Try changing filter to billiniar compression to "no" and playing with details and quality. This will probably not help, but worth a try.

2. Try to install the driver from the link in the quote above.

3. Search for a newer version of "Catalyst 11.10" in AMD's website and install it. (Do it even if step 1 or 2 were successful)

You said that you have an AMD graphics card (GPU) and the driver was for an AMD card, so I see no surprise here. Maybe you think that you have an ATI card, but these are the same since AMD bought ATI some time ago.

Anyway, you're welcome.

I don't own a AMD CPU, I own a Intel CPU (both diffrend companys, Intel is more succesfull(Wanted to get this confirmed so I did some re search: "Last year Intel reported sales of nearly $44 billion whereas AMD only reported $6.5 billion." - Link - http://www.tomshardware.com/news/AMD-APU-Z-Series-ARM-Tegra-3,14114.html)).

AMD bought ATI yes I know that, what you need to relise is that AMD would never make(No normal company would help their "enemies"). AMD made his update of graphic card work with their own CPU.

To sum it up, I am enemy to AMD since I don't own a AMD CPU. When I installed it first time, I got blue screen didn't get to read what it was saying. When the restart was over, I looked it up how will I get my blue screen to stay there to get the error code (manual restart would be right word I guess). After I got that done, I tried to "roll-back" I didn't success there, my graphic was messed up I really wanted to know what error code there was so I gave it another try to AMD ATI install, this time I get to end with it, but the program gave me error, it was telling me that PC can't find a AMD CPU, there was nothing to be done at that point so I went to restart with no high hopes, once I got back everything was back to normal(graphic card was installed). I went to try Wolf, and for some weird reason my black texture problem was gone.

Sorry for bad english, pretty hard to get to the point but I hope you get it to. :P

Got my xp back aswell, but haven't installed the patches yet do I even need them?

I thank you both Art and Minimuppet for your time and help.
