was working after updete then after 3 games im back to 33meg updete which ends in xmas pak4 the / is from the ET download????

When I downloaded the xmas pak i went to install it on the installer window but got this message. ET 2.60b win-x86 May 8 2006 ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Local\Temp/etmain ---------------------- 0 files in pk3 files ----- CL_Shutdown ----- ----------------------- Couldn't load default.cfg - I am missing essential files - verify your installation?

I did.

DOWNLOADED UPDATE 2.79.0, dragged and dropped into start menue ET icon but didnt install update. now each game takes 20 minutes to download then asks for xmas pk4. How do I fix this ? Update.. now the update setup window opened and I followed the setup but the start menu programme info for ET still says old 8 version..Now worked for a few games but now again asking for update of 33 meg then xmas pak
