Banned for "Way to many GUID's"

Hello, I have been banned for 604800 seconds. Reason: "Way to many GUID's, stick to one installation next time"

What is the reason why?  What do I have to correct or modify?

it says on it, you have too many guids, use one install. It gives the reason, and the solution.

Thks for your answer. I 've trouble with my PC (Windows 11), so I play with another PC (Linux). Profiles and name are different.

No way to get two different profiles ? With two PC ?

I got banned for a week for having only two GUIDs because I needed to re-install. So what is the limit someone can have?

If you keep a copy of your etlegacy folder from /Documents you can also use on Linux in /Home/.etlgeacy and youll have the same account same guid same settings on both OS's/Machines. I use Win10, Linux, and Macbookpro same guid on them all. 

 

I there isnt set number knux, subjective - I suppose if its communicated that it's a new install, it would avoid it, while it's not ideal it would certainly avoid the ban providing we know them, in a case like you.  

 

It's really easy to put the etlgeacy folder on a USB pen or even upload to your icloud/gmail/onedrive/cloud - its small, and then you have ur guid and settings hud etc, its win win win.

Have you checked that you have only 1 etkey names file in your etmain directory. 

 

That was new that game can just ban because of many guids.. No idea how it counts it, because same named players can be sometimes more than 1.. So I dont know does it scan it only by name or how it does.. I think those admins who handle the bans and those tools which tracks player with too many guids.. Can take a look about ban and lift the ban that you can play.. I think @Flo has somekind of access.. Because he has done/installed that SK script to maps..

Kevlar,Now, I copied my etlegacy folder from Windows on Linux in /Home/.etlegacy. It seems to be ok (Profile and name are similar on both). I have to wait a few days and check on server when the ban is over

Stumple, I have only one etkey file

Jessica, sorry I did not know anything about this limit of Guid's. Can I have the same profile on both PC (windows & Linux) ? Or one profile on my PC Windows + one on my PC Linux (No more 😀). What is the better way?

Ban is now no longer needed and you dont have to wait a few days.
