well i have to reinstal et and now i see a message during game play that says to update my et cause im runing and old version can someone help me on this

yes i can play but during the game a see a message im using a old version off et please do to et.trackbase.net/update something like this

no i don't think so i don't get any message on jaymod server to update. i don't understand though what you can get from trackbase.

I think I have read this some where that with the new et 3.00 serverside they are trying to get everyone to update to 2.60b client side, it is likely that the 2.55 server browser will be withdrawn permanently soon.

I have tested our 3.00 servers with a 2.55 installation and it does say "you are running an old version of et, please update" obviously you do not have to but I would recommend that everyone runs 2.60b.

Also to the casual newbie player that uses ETs server browser?

We just came out of the darkest time ever for ET and 2.60/b is more than ever before a wasteland of empty servers.

New players get the impression the game is more stone dead than it really is, with 2.60.

It's much harder for them to find a server with humans and get a game going. Maybe they don't consider using the "Server Info" button, and / or sort servers in various ways.
