Yeah, the host want to move our server to another machine either today or tomorrow at 3:30pm EST so we have redirected the server to the dedibox for a short time.

I agree with Gaunt. My ping has went from 110+ to 50~ and everyone else's ping is stable - screeny is on lagdump too....... To me it makes sense that the main busiest server should be the most secure but hey, one can dream.

The server is on our dedibox at the moment, I had incresed that server's sytem resources to real time before we launched, the hunk meg allocation is beyond what ET requires from a server, bandwidth allocation is no issue either as we are allocated our own switch and then connected to a one gig backbone.

 

Regarding specs, they actual use less packets than players thus a server of 40 specs would lag less than a server of 40 players, the slot allocation is unrestricted and is only govend by the game, currently at 44, 40 + 4 private, this can be increased to what ever though too many would certainly cause lag, not due to the server resources but due to the game/mod.
