I would like to thank all of the judges for organising another iteration of the map contest. The idea of this map has been with me for almost 9 years now. It was my first real map project for Enemy Territory that I started when I was at the very beginning of my mapping career. Due to that, the first versions have always been buggy, ugly and/or not playable. During the years I have attempted to do this project 8 times, where I always started from scratch until I decided to put it aside in 2014. The contest this year required a historical background of the map, so I decided to try my luck a 9th time. How it turned out is for you to decide. Since this is the first public release, any feedback is welcome. -----Story----- June 6, 1944:*To grant safe passage for the Allied ships during D-Day a small operation is launched to disable the artillery guns of Pointe du Hoc. The Allies will attempt to gain control of the bunkers on the cliff and advance into the Hinterland where the Axis have hidden the artillery guns from Allied bombers. The Axis have to prevent the loss of this strategic part of Normandy and the artillery guns at all costs. -----Objectives----- Allies: • Capture the Forward Bunker. // If a team holds both the flag and the cp, the flag is temporarily secured! • Construct a Command Post. // If a team holds both the flag and the cp, the flag is temporarily secured! • Only an Allied Field-Ops can call in reinforcements in the radar bunker. • Dynamite the East Artillery Guns. • Dynamite the West Artillery Guns. Axis: • Do not lose the Forward Bunker to the Allies. // If a team holds both the flag and the cp, the flag is temporarily secured! • Construct a Command Post. // If a team holds both the flag and the cp, the flag is temporarily secured! • Prevent the Allies from calling in reinforcements. • Defend the East Artillery Guns. • Defend the West Artillery Guns. -----Known Issues----- • ET: Legacy only: The planes in the win screen disappear mid flight. This is due to parts of the win screen script not being executed. • in the 2nd stage occasionally there is a glitch with fog and sky shader. Managed to reduce its occurrence, but couldn't fix it. -----Recommended settings----- • /r_wolffog 0 • /r_subdivisions 12 -----Specs----- Author: Cedric 'keMoN' E.   11. I dont really mind most of popular maps , when its less crowded and playable. But the most popular maps have the most choke points in my view. Problems start, when its over 15v15 that the real grind starts. U could easily die 10 times straight without even shooting a single shot, cuz the spam is getting out of hand and fps goes down the drain. But some people like this too, so its true, that its difficult to find great balance all things considered

  13. I absolutele disagree with that. Most of us have played this game for so long, and u basically play the 10-15 maps all over again. I always vote for new maps and enjoy playing them much more. As it is, new maps gets rarely played and your suggestion would mean that they get almost never played. Fraggers and spammers wanna always push for meatgrinder maps, to get easy kills in their camp spots and known spawn timings, witch i absolutely despise. Id go as far as saying u shoud push less played maps, when votes come out as equals.
  14. Good idea. Tough balance of giving the newer maps a chance and playing the popular ones, but I like the idea of the most popular maps coming up a little more often.
  15. There's a way to benchmark ET: - open console (~) /timedemo 1 /demo DEMONAME When the demo is finished open console again. There will be data about the FPS. Min. FPS/Max FPS Average, 99%, 99.9%. The demo isn't running at normal speed. It's running faster. So you won't have to wait 20 to 30 minutes. My guess the demo has to be in the /demo folder.
  16. hi @meanmachine, thanks for voting and providing the feedback on the post being confusing. Let's have another go... Right now the server has a system where a map can only appear again after fifteen other maps have been played. This keeps things varied. It also means the most popular maps don't come up that often. If you miss your favourite map, you might not see it again for a quite a long time. The purpose of this poll is simply to find out which maps the community enjoys the most. If there are clear favourites, TeamMuppet could choose to let those maps appear a little more often in the voting pool. Nothing drastic, just a small adjustment that would make the rotation feel better for most players while still keeping plenty of variety. So the poll is here to show which maps people actually want to play more regularly.
  17. Voted Dany! Hope it will help somehow, however this topic is really confusing, the main problem is ppl don't want play new maps bcs they don't want to learn them. Simply It is easier to play same maps all over again day by day (that is why i play less last months) New maps that should stay in rotation like regular maps in my opinion are: - Haemar - Operation - Dubrovnik - Oasi
  18. Thanks for feedback and improvement suggestion! Idea itself is understandable. But it should be way that it doesnt displace "new maps" too much. Then it also can become unfun with all same maps over again.
  19. While I believe this is a good idea, I’m not convinced that it will still satisfy the “play new maps” criteria. If those maps are indeed so popular, chances are they will always be voted over the “new maps”. Nonetheless worth a try if technically feasible IMO!
  20. Hey all, I just want to start by saying how much I appreciate the work TeamMuppet, Flo, and everyone involved put into running this server. In my view, it’s by far the best place to play ET. Everything below is simply a suggestion from a regular player who enjoys the server and wants to contribute something constructive. Over the past few months I’ve noticed that the map voting pool often includes a lot of new or lesser known maps, while the most popular ones only appear every fifteen or sixteen games. As i understand it, the server currently only allows the same maps to be played once a 15 map cycle is completed. As a result, favourites like Erden and Delivery etc show up far less often than many players would like. This can be very frustrating... especially if you have an absolute favourite and miss it. I understand the intention behind encouraging variety and giving new maps a chance... it keeps things fresh. At the same time, I think there might be room for a small adjustment that still respects that goal.... allow the most popular maps to appear slightly more frequently in the voting pool. These maps are popular for a reason... they are balanced, fun, and attract players. Allowing them to be voted on more frequently would make the rotation feel more satisfying for the majority of players, while still keeping space for new maps. To help TM think about this, I’ve set up a community poll where each player can vote for their top five maps. The maps that receive the most support would be an indication to TM about which maps could, if they were so inclined, get special treatment. Meaning they could reappear sooner in the rotation, for example by reducing g_minMapAge for those maps only. I spoke briefly with Flo about my frustrations with the current config and he mentioned how difficult it is to please both sides. Some players want more new maps while others prefer the classics. This suggestion aims to give both groups a fairer system. Please vote below for your top five maps. It will also be interesting to see if there are clear favourites.
