Hello, I am m00f. I've been a naughty boy, bullying your ET legacy server for the past year or so. I am very sorry. I'm 30 years old, from Austria and I "work" as a retail trader in the forex market after years and years of trying out and leaving different fields of work, so nowadays I spend most of the time sitting at home playing video games. yay. Besides video games and slacking off I also really like cooking, skiing and drawing - I even have a Deviant Art account. lol I started playing ET when it came out back in the day, and I was immediately hooked - it quickly became my favorite thing in the world - to the point it preoccupied my life so much I almost failed school! Besides being part of the austrian national team for some time I never really played on a super high level tho. I had to quit the game back in the day because of technical difficulties with the old client over and over again - but now i have returned after about a 7 year break to rekindle this old love of mine Besides ET I regularly play Hearthstone, Path of Exile, Diablo 2 and Heroic - Magic Duel ... I might even reinstall League of Legends some day, who knows. lol. Well, dunno if that is a sufficient introduction or not, sorry I'm drunk atm. Heya, thought I'd introduce myself a little to the community. My (ingame) name is Sebast1an and I'm a 29-year-old guy currrently living in Middle Finland. Automation engineer by education, I've worked the past 3+ years as a design engineer doing both automation and electrical engineering in one of the biggest Nordic engineering companies. Fluent in Finnish and English, can say hello in Swedish and swear in German. As for ET, I used to play this game a lot 10-15 years ago, eventually managing my own Jaymod server for like 3 years. But as the playerbase descended and the server died, I quit this game and only recently started playing again. Downloaded an ET:Legacy client, found your server and here we are. I like playing the objective every time I play - quite frankly I find pure fragging damn boring. Typically I play as a medic or as an engineer - whatever I feel advances the objective best. In my opinion some maps are far better than others so you might see me spectating certain maps every time they are played. Most of the default maps and Venice for example. I prefer to play on the offence because most of the time defending means just camping at one place and it gets boring after a while. My gaming setup has a lot of room for improvement as I play on a couple years old 15,6" laptop and use my phones internet. But for now I haven't felt the need to upgrade because I rarely use my laptop for anything other than ET anyways. Higher fps would be nice though. :D Good to meet you all. :) If you have any questions, I'll probably answer them.

I always liked Marrakech Streets and Cathedral. Beautiful maps as well. Neither is a great fit for both small and big matchups but feel like this is the case with most maps to be honest. E: You also asked for maps to be removed. Dingenskirchen is a map that's played very rarely, if ever. Reactor is also not one of my favourites and tends to be allied dominance due to a close spawn and overall small area.

True. Cant understand why neither of them is available but thats Life. As divine said 1060 is fine as well, 1660 even better and costs around 30€ more. Whatever choice you make, just dont take a card with 3 GB of Memory...take 6 GB (or even 8 depending on Card). As long as u take a Card from the GTX 1xxx or RTX 2xxx Series with at least 6 GB of Ram you will be fine!

GTX 1060 is kinda old but still enough for comfortable playing. If you want such a card, the best choice seems to be Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 Strix Gaming. It's a card that offers high core clock speed and even higher boost mode, GPU is effectively cooled by 3 fans. Unfortunately, this is reflected in a higher price but it's still good choice imo. However, it is worth considering buying a newer model - GTX 1660. Prices slightly higher, and the leap in performance in newest titles is significant.
