This may come as no surprise to a few but, it is finally time for Rachael and me to hang up our dog tags. We have given many years of hard work to this community but over the last few months this had been something that we no longer enjoy, playing or even being on the server is now a chore and no longer a hobby. Time is precious and we are no longer willing to continue to contribute the shear amount of time that is needed to fulfil all the roles that we have, running the servers, managing the sites and being active on the server, the members are the heart of the community but the server is the energy source that keeps that heart alive, if we neglect the server then the community will die! We have always put the community’s interests first above our personal interests and gains, delegating duties to many others to create a community that is for the members in which the majority of members have their say in how it is run. I have never accepted donations for the communities services since the beginning, it has been my philosophy that all I ask from the members is activity, any help beyond that as always been a bonus so having such a great team behind us has made the journey to where the community is today such a pleasure, for that, I wish to thank you all. We have a great community of members but I think there is a need for a new leadership to improve on the way in which the community is lead and to take it to the next level. The decision to pass on the community leadership has been a difficult one but the new leaders needed to be experienced in game servers, experienced in running communities, active on the server and willing to finance the game servers as I will no longer be active managing the servers. Only two admins met the criteria that was required and I contacted both of them for their opinions, it is a pleasure to say that Ailmanki and Smire are willing to continue the community in its present form, from tomorrow I will hand over the game servers to those two and I will no longer be in control of the servers, I will continue to finance and manage the forums in their present format but we will no longer contribute in community affairs such has promotions, demotions, polls etc., we will administrate but no longer lead. It has been a pleasure to have built up such a community over the past twelve years and it is something that we are very proud of, long may it continue for another twelve. Again, thank you all for your work in the past and hopefully in the future to continue with the TeamMuppet values of fun, firm but fair. Thank you all. Craig and Rachael.

The three I have all stay within the UK to get to our server in Cheltenham where as mine gets there via Germany, Netherlands and Romania, I am awaiting the network team at Virgin media to reply on this, the trace routes prove that no other ISP as to go out of the country to connect to our server.

Could the players from the UK do a trace route to our ip 109.70.149.28 please? Pm me the results with the name of your isp. The two ddos attacks that occurred last night against one of the UK data centers should not have effected our connection but after running a trace route I found that we leave the country, visit Germany, Netherlands and Romania before coming back to London and then on to our data center. I contacted our isp last night and was forwarded to their main network facility in Swansea who after running the same trace, found their connection did the same and they could not explain why.

The chat is hosted by Invision power services who create the software we use and is hosted on their servers in the US, we have no control over it, the forums are hosted on our own vps in France.

It looks a little messy to me. Omnibot does not need to be in your etmain directory, create a omnibot directory along side etmain etc, add the contents of your omni-bot directory there. The same goes for etpub, create the directory and include the files from your official etpub download, .dll, pk3 files etc I cant see a etpub server.cfg, if you are running the mod there needs to be a server.cfg there which includes the absolute path to your omnibot_et.dll to load after the mod, create that, place in your etpub directory, add the omnibot run commands to this cfg (omnibot_enable etc) modify the omnibot.cfg for your desired omnibot settings once loaded, (omnibot/et/user/omnibot.cfg). Previously you +set fs_game omni-bot, that will run the omnibot mod and not omnibot with etpub, the two are different, as previously mentioned, set your fs_game to etpub and control omnibot from there, plus don't forget to add +exec server.cfg to the start line to execute the server.cfg from your etpub directory. Not sure about the omnibot error you got when trying to add a new bot but I think the error should have been something like "omnibot not loaded" and not "bot not found". If I was at my computer I would be able to give you a complete directory listing with what you need where and what needs executing but I am currently away on holiday so from memory, the above is what you need, I'm sure the guys will correct me if I have made a mistake.

We need to install a hook to support this on I.P.board, the free ones are not very good, if we need this then I can purchase one trough the market place.

Xmas mods and sound pack added to the silent server, 109.70.149.33:27960 or silent.teammuppet.com Xmas maps added, atmospheric effects are forced, please suggest other maps to be added, the previous suggested do not have way points for, these can still be added on the night as bots wont be required. Check it out and let me know over the next four days.

The server move is complete, the site is now on its own vps in France so the page load times should now be eradicated. There have been issues, IP board is not that simply to move, the database did not want to work on the new server after the first installation so had to do that again, the modules did not unzip correctly after the next installation so on the third attempt I had to upload all the files individually, over seven hours for the 35,000 files and 8 gig of data. Because this is licensed software, the installations had to be done under our domain name as the license if for the site url, anything else would have prevented access to the acp, I moved the dns back to the uk over night whilst I was not working on this. The site is back in operation after two days of working on this solid, I will continue to work on this today as the update as not completed and the site is in limbo between 3.4.6 and 3.4.7 so you may see some more downtime or other things not working correctly, I will endeavor to get this finished tonight as I am back to work tomorrow and have already spend my days off work just working on this. All teammuppet.eu emails need to be set up again so please let me know those that have these (or wish to have these) and wish to continue with them, I have moved the file server to Germany at the same time so FTP account will require setting up for the same, not sure, other than Eagle, who had access to this and wish to so lease let me know.
