Hey. Join TM channel then also - we can gather people easier there or agree some kind of event next week or even weekend?

Also - check in splatterladder forum. People wander there also and you can set up mini tournament there also. They allow that sort of advertisement.

The only pessimistic thing is, that majority of active clans/groups that could actually put out a team, would maybe prefer 5vs5 or 6vs6 as it is more teamwork based than shooting skill? My only question is - do you wanna do this tournament for fun or for serious competition? If you need any extra help then until 20.12 I have some spare time as Im only part-time working and my kids and girlfriend are in summerhouse. (weekend Im there too)

  2. Ok guys, so big news, the server TeamMuppet ET:Legacy 3on3 is officially up and running with a 3on3 config. Big thanks to @Eagle_cz for setting this up for us, we greatly appreciate it and the words are powerless to express our gratitude, you are the best! :) Of course once again sorry for bothering you with this.

We played tonight some test 3on3 on the server with regular legacy players and it felt great, like old times when we used to play those 3on3 matches on etpro :)

The 3on3 config is loaded, but it needs slight adjustments to be able to play 3on3 competitive, etpro-style matches and organize a tournament. Maybe there is someone familiar with the Legacy mod settings that could help with this a little bit? It's got to do with things like ammo and med packs flying out of dead bodies, power bar recharging after selfkill/respawn, artillery and airstrike limitations, ability to heal an alive player with a syringe and some other small details. Maybe @bumpermajn2?

I think 3on3 or even 6on6 on legacy is something new and has some real potential and we could have a lot of fun, as it's something different from standard play on public servers and the legacy mod is still being supported, in comparison with etpro which basically hasn't been updated since 2006. We encourage all of legacy players and especially TM clan members to participate in this initiative and get those 3on3 games going. All players are welcome and I think the only requirement is a mic and Teamspeak app :) We can always balance teams. Now we have the most important thing, the server, so we can make a solid list of players interested in playing those 3on3 games.

As for the tournament, I think if we had at least 4 teams we could play a everyone vs everyone tournament even in one day, i.e. on Sunday, but first we have to adjust the config.

Is there any site or forum where TM members or friends can sign up for the little tournament?

So you guys have a whole overview about the players who are interesting in playing some matches.

    I'll quote @bumpermajn2

"I've been working a little on some server setup and an integrated web-platform for tournaments the past two days, inspired by this thread. I've registered an  IRC channel on quakenet and a domain. It is pretty late now (20 minutes past 4 in the morning) so the channel will be empty until I've had some sleep, but feel free to drop in on the channel if you like."

I don't know if there's some progress or not regarding this matter.

Edit: I just joined ET:Legacy discord channel and there's a very similar discussion going on over there with legacy developers.

Edit2: We also have problems with starting the second round of stopwatch.

  3. Wow, Eagle, thank you very much for this, all the legacy players would really appreciate it, I'm sure :) You are indeed the best. You can surely count on us to apply to join the TM team!

As Sed said, we'd like a server with a 3v3 and 6v6 Clanbase or Global config, but the problem is that I'm not really sure if it's possible to set up on legacy mod, since they were created for etpro mod. But there is a standard 3on3 legacy config. I'm sure we could figure something out. It would be great if it was a config very similar to Clanbase/Global configs. Without bots of course and with all the most important competitive maps like supply depot, braundorf, sw_goldrush, sw_oasis, bremen, frostbite, special delivery, adlernest, tc_base, et_ice, etc.

Well, again thank you very much for your support and let's hope it works out!

Hey you can count me in too, but i never played pro so i will be bad, and pls don't yell at me too much because i didn't defuse the bomb or something xD

The other thing is i play for fun when time allows me, i do try hard when i play but i hope this wont make it into a job rather then a game... we will see i guess.

Team Seed will win i think :D unless someone from the teammuppet etpub joins too, which i have seen have some serious talent :)

Ok Nini, so I'm adding you to the list :)

Edit: NiNi, you're at the same level as us, even better.. so as Sed said (lol), I'm sure too that you're gonna do just fine...

    List:

    1. Sed, kujaw, Bystry

    2. bumpermajn + 2 players

    3. Musher

    4. walden

    5. NiNi

    6. ketiv

    7. TM Charlie - might be interested?

  5. 4 minutes ago, walden said:

Yeah i like the idea! I miss good old Stopwatch Matches too.

Okay, so I'll add you to the list. You could ask other players too, if you happen to know someone who would be interested.

  6. Ok, so we have two essential things to figure out.

First, we have to start gathering players who would be interested in participating. As for now, I'm counting:

    1. Sed, kujaw, Bystry

    2. bumpermajn + 2 players

    3. Musher

    4. walden

    5. NiNi

    6. TM Charlie - might be interested?

If I understood correctly, the TM clan would be able to organize some team on their part as well, so for know we would have at least 3 teams.

@Ctrz would you be interested as well? I've seen you play on legacy recently.

I know there are other players connecting to legacy server regularly: @nini @slowtobi @fr33km8 @walden @Buja-Moy and others like Jade, Debian, devhyr, but I don't know if they're registered here so we have to contact them on the server. I've seen recently some guys from Germany that were playing with the same tags, so they might be interested as well.

The second one is organizing a server. I hosted a server myself on legacy few days ago, it works, but I don't really know if my connection can handle as many as 6 players without lags, I guess probably not. So that's the second thing we have to figure out.

  7. As I already posted: "No, of course I wasn't really thinking about playing these games on the actual Team Muppet Legacy server" :)

We were thinking about 3on3 matches, so it would require only one private server with 6/7 slots, with 1 slot for a referee or optionally each team could upload a demo from the match, just like it used to be on Clanbase.

As for the set up of this "competition", I think the best course of action would be to organize something similar to a league in which everyone needs to play against everyone, so that each team could choose freely a convenient time to play. As I said, it's open for discussion. I'm just "testing the waters" here, to tell you the truth :) But it would be really nice to play some old-school style matches again.

  8. @Dmxj Glad to hear that you like this idea. I fully agree that organizing a competition on legacy is strange, but the problem is that not everybody is able to play on etpro (which would be the best solution) for many reasons. For one, the Legacy version of ET doesn't support etpro. Additionally, some of the players are using macOS, which doesn't support etpro either. So it seems to me that the only reasonable solution in this situation is to play on legacy, which is very similar to etpro.

  9. @Charlie No, of course I wasn't really thinking about playing these games on the actual Team Muppet Legacy server. Some of the reasons for that you've already mentioned above (the lack of proper config on the server is another one). Perhaps I could host a server or we could use en empty one. I guess it's open for discussion, that's why we started this topic. Maybe you have organized some tournaments here in the past and you could share your experience? Anyways, my main question is if you are willing to participate in this "initiative", since you have an active base of players on Etpub server.

As for the config, what we really need is a 3on3 Clanbase or Global config, but I'm not really sure if you can use it on the legacy mod. But, even so, there is a default 3on3 config available on the legacy mod that should do the job. So basically, the 3on3 config has some restrictions that make the game more competitive, like limited heavy weapons, friendly fire on, no class level-ups, etc.

So, one thing is a proper config. The game type on the server is another story. It should be set to stopwatch. It consists in playing two rounds on each map. During the first round, the allies are trying to complete the objective of the map against the clock. In the second round you switch the sides, and the other team is trying to beat the time that was set previously. If they manage to beat it, they win the map. You play 2 maps with an optional decider.

So, that's the idea in a nutshell. Let's see if there are enough players interested in participating in it.

  10. Lol, you got me wrong :) All players are welcome, and, as I said, I consider you to be a "very good player". So, we will not only need your "technical stuff" support, but also we will need you to play (it goes without saying)! You are an excellent objective player! And, the saying "bumper always wins" is not without reason! :P

  11. Well, first of all, hello to you all!

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Bartek and I come from Warsaw, Poland. Some of you may know me already. I've been playing on Legacy server for quite some time now.  Sed and I are experienced Polish players who played back in the "golden era" of ET, around 2006-2010. We played in several clans and participated in Clanbase matches.

Recently, the Legacy server has been getting quite busy, to be honest. I noticed some excellent players who have been joining the Legacy server regularly, like Fr33k, NiNi, kujaw, n00b, Jezus, Charlie, Son of Sam, RedDwarf, wurstcola, walden, Sed, myself, and of course other excellent players like Debian, devhyr, bumpermajn, moroman, buja-moy, cranog, Bob Ross, gl.cobra, tobi, Jade and others, who I've surely forgot to mention, that join this server occasionally.  I'm pretty sure that among your TM clan members are other pretty good players too, but, at the same time, I'm aware that you mostly play on your Etpub server.

Of course, playing on the legacy server is much fun, but  what we'd really enjoy is some classic, old-school, stopwatch, objective-driven 3v3 games (preferably a tournament) with 3v3 Clanbase/ Global config. This is, at least Sed and myself, what we miss the most. In my opinion, the Legacy is the most similar mod to Etpro.

Now, what I have in mind. I would like to organize a 3on3 tournament on legacy mod. I know that you don't support the legacy server much, but I think that we should really give it a shot, especially since it has been getting really busy nowadays. I've been thinking about a classic 3on3 tournament (5on5 or 6on6 is too much, I think we're never gonna get the numbers) on legacy mod and classic, old-school Clanbase config (it is very easy to set on Legacy). I'm using your forum as a "medium", because your legacy server is the only one alive right now, and I've been encouraging everyone to sign up here. As for the server, if you are are not willing to support this idea, I could host myself a server to play on, but I'd like to wait for your response, since many players are in the mood to play some real tournament. I'm waiting for the response of all of the players as well, of course.

Well, sorry for this very lengthy comment. I'd gladly hear you response.

    Best regards,

    Bystry
