Hi! I'm looking forward to get back to the servers after a small hiatus. I have backups of my old ET:L game folders, so what files should I transfer over to keep my profile?

I rather not have "traditional" anti-cheat system as those are quite intrusive and IIRC require high level privileges. I checked the code base and too bad I do not have the skills to contribute right now. Do you ETL dev guys take donations? If you do you should put a link to the web page. I guess it could contribute towards tooling and licenses (and/or pizza). I think I tried to look for one during xmas season but could not find one.

I haven't had time to play lately but I wish the intermission time was a bit longer for some post-game banter. Maybe this has already been changed.

It always takes few rounds of v27 to learn the map. I guess that is one of the reasons new maps don't get votes

In some maps this would actually be beneficial. If tank is intact when it reaches the end of its path in Caen it can be used by allies as an indestructible mg nest. Other than that it would be pure horror

Maybe offer a more convenient way for putting ones self to spec during intermission? Like "!spec". Console command "/team s" works but many people do not know about it.

On https://freek.ws/2015/09/12/statsgen2-2/ in the comment section there is a guy claiming to be the original author and willing to release the source code. If you can get hold of him it would probably be the easiest way to fix this

The functionality provided by this program does not seem very difficult to reimplement. I could try myself later this spring if it is possible to setup some kind of log streaming.

River Port felt like a fun map (needs a bit more learning though). On the other hand goldrush-ga felt very similar to the vanilla gr and as such unnecessary

Making in battle self kills count as kills would be nice. Even though I like to concentrate on the objective I wouldn't mind to see my stats be 5/22 instead of 3/22 at the end of the round

Just tested lvl 0 pf and I must say I don't like it. It feels like a chore to play with it. PF and other "noob" weapons have a important role in games: they allow the new players to get into the game and feel somewhat useful. When I came back to ET earlier this year I had no chance against skilled players on a smg vs. smg fight and if it were not for heavy weapons and rifles I probably would have stopped playing pretty quick.

fops constantly spamming arty and airstrike also means that they have no ammo available (or are reluctant to give it as it means less arty). I'd even like there to be third fops slot if it can be made without increasing total arty capacity of the team. I sometimes want to play fops for ammo starved team but both slots are taken by some single man armies behind enemy lines.

Yes dd indeed. And ouch that is painful to read Fortunately now many distros require you to pass --no-preserve-root if you try to delete /. Might prevent some sudden terminations of employment.

Hi! Found ET after 11-12 year break and I'm loving it. Especially on Team Muppet's server. I'm probably on the younger side of hte active playerbase and despite the in game flag I'm actually located in Southern Finland. My line of profession and hobbies can probably be deducted from the nick name. I'm not sure why I selected that one. Maybe I was running it while installing the game.
