  1. I think it's a great idea. People already have to download maps they don't have and we change them relatively frequently so I'm not sure the 'too much to download' reason works in the long-run. Eventually it'll even out and be no different. Rather than blocking off squares, try to draw the areas with lines to reflect the rules and pictures we already have here: That's easier said than done with some maps having truly awful uh.. maps, but it would be nice for everyone to have an easy reference at the push of a button. I am very much in favour of this change, especially now we're getting an influx of new players.
  2. Yeah, even being made out of names and completely redrawn, Kermit is clearly Kermit and a protected character. Given our name is 'Team Muppet' as well, you're going to have a hard time convincing Disney lawyers that our frog character totally isn't Kermit, honest. Upshot is, you can't take money for this. You could make the T-shirts and give them out in a very limited manner, but you couldn't attach that to any receipt of money, even donations. It would simply be argued that we are using unlicensed muppets merchandise to drive donations. Given that it's Disney, I just wouldn't make t-shirts at all.
  3. That is some excellent artwork, well executed! Congratulations TM! 20 whole years, incredible. My love to all of ya! ❤️
  4. People should understand that on older engines, such as the Quake 3 engine used by ETL, FPS isn't unlocked from the rest of the non-rendering logic. So FPS does affect how many packets are sent (it's not a one-to-one relationship as there are various multipliers that are used). It gets weird, for instance you will send more packets at 100fps than 125fps.
  5. Just for clarification, THIS PLAYER IS MEOWKINS. NOT L/B/S Afaik, Jess kicked (banned?) you for generally talking about gay sex and saw that you had used the term Nazi previously when checking your history. This may, therefore, have been a jump to an erroneous conclusion. However, we don't call Axis 'Nazis' or tolerate any use of that word. Because this is the internet and everyone knows what happens when you start using that word. Likewise, discussions about whether gay sex is indeed the best sex are not appropriate in game. I have been erring towards being lenient and accept that these were not malicious, and I understand your frustration. However, your attitude isn't helping your case.
  6. I like the idea, I guess the last player to shoot & hit the self-killer would be the one picked as the awarded scary person. Might want to limit that to 'in the last 3 seconds' or so, so not to catch out people who self-kill to change class or to get unstuck etc. No idea how you would actually implement this, though. Someone with ETL / modding experience want to weigh in on feasibility?
  7. Hi, I was the one who kicked Hello. Several axis were spawn killing, I made numerous mentions and warnings to the entire axis team that I was not going to tolerate heavy weapons over the wall, especially airstrikes and artillery, and I made it clear that any further infractions would result in a kick. So, no, Hello wasn't specifically warned but the entire team, and the other fieldop, were warned to stop SKing. They did not, so I started kicking as I have seen Jess do on many an occasion. Pretty sure yolo can back me up on this as he msged me about his team SKing while I was watching the allied spawn. Edit: So the best way to avoid being kicked is to listen to TM members when they are specifically saying not to do something that you then do.
  8. Pretty sure it's not PTain as I've seen this 'pain' and our PTain playing at the same time.
  9. As the rules, IIRC, say no mortar NEAR spawn exits, there's definitely a case to be made that area A should be out of bounds. However, I was playing when the mortar was there (when Nanaa was playing) and all I had to do is use the green exit, step back and watch the sky, wait until the mortar had landed, then move. Remember: WATCH THE SKIES!

So, yeah, it looks like your problems start when you hit Telia's network. This doesn't surprise me, I've had issues in my work with them and they are singularly unhelpful. This might be a blip or a problem peering between Telia (backbone) and Hetzner (the host). Given that you get +20ms to both servers when you hit Telia too, I would say that Telia is having peering problems. As an end user there's very little you can do, just let your ISP know that there seem to be issues with Telia.
  11. I disagree. A racist joke, for instance, isn't just a joke. It's a joke that deliberately 'punches down,' encourages disrespect or worse. Making light of the situation in Afghanistan is pretty much punching down at this point. 'It's just a joke' isn't a defence against anything. I recently got to have a long chat with a guy from Afghanistan whose family is over there and terrified, he has no idea when he will be able to contact them again or when he will be able to send them money to get out of the country. It's heartbreaking.
  12. Sniperpeak is a pain in the ass for Allies. Venice is a favourite of mine, have seen Allies win a fair few times. You just need to have a competent Covert Ops. I second bringing Warbell back, love that map. _BRIDGES_ always seemed to end in a stalemate with one team spawnlocked but holding on to the train. AFAIK the baserace problem is with the server, not the map, but I could take a look at the pk3 to see if there are any glaringly obvious issues. Rushers, Nacht, El Kef and AA are all fine maps but tend to be over quickly as players don't know them so they should be kept on for a while to allow players to get to know them properly. Minas Tirith has been requested a lot, but I am sadly unfamiliar with it. Would like to see what the fuss is about.
  13. Always happy to chip in! Also, that Muppet Bank picture is fantastic 😁
  14. Welcome to the forums! That - along with complex systems theory - is an interest of mine, but I fear my mathematical skills will never be sufficient for a deep understanding. What aspect are you researching? It's a pretty broad field!
  15. Ok.. this is sounding quite familiar. Optimus was phased out because it's flaky at the best of times, and there have been issues between Intel drivers and nVidia ones under optimus. Windows Update may have given you a graphics driver (probably Intel) that flakes out under optimus. OBS and other recording software have issues with optimus too. My last laptop had optimus and I am so glad my new one doesn't. For starters: Right click your desktop, click 'nvidia control panel,' then click 'manage 3d settings.' Look for ET in the dropdown list and make sure it's using your nvidia gpu.
  16. We had some major lag issues yesterday, so there might be some issues with the new build on the server. As for the not being able to record using OBS - are you using a laptop? And, if so, does it have Optimus? That is, a low-power GPU (usually Intel) and a high-power nVidia GPU that it switches between? I've had nothing but trouble with those, and it's possible that OBS or ET aren't using the correct GPU.
  17. Didn't the 'creators update' (or the newer 'gaming update') also cause stuttering in games for some people? If so, make sure you are completely up to date as I believe they have only recently fixed that. Fun fact: If you have windows update and 'update other apps' turned on, windows update will try to update any xbox / xbox game pass games when you least want it to. Generally, I turn windows update off and check it manually. These days the best way to do that is to set your connection to 'metered' and make sure windows update is set not to use metered connections. (Edit: windows update won't reset that after an update) LIES! No, seriously, I know people shorten my name to Star, but StaR here has been a member for a lot longer than I. Perhaps we could encourage people to shorten my name to Scream instead? I did say I'm happy to change my name if things get confusing.
  18. Yeah, I asked Cain to tracert as a first step So, while I was discussing this with him on the server, I was also speccing him with the ping and lag monitors on. Every time he stopped to reply to me, his ping went crazy for a bit, which settled down as soon as he started moving again. He also seemed to get lag spikes every 2 seconds or so. Having thought about this, and providing the ping and lagometer were correctly showing something, it feels to me like something is either on your network or computer that is trying to monopolise your bandwidth. The high ping when not moving makes me think that something is downloading or uploading and ET is only prioritised when you start moving (ET sends more packets). Might be barking completely up the wrong tree, but do make sure nothing on your end is unusually active on your network.
  19. _Ler, you're an absolute star, thank you!
  20. Hello! Good to see you're finally here
  21. Unfortunately, any automated solution will inevitably fall to this. Good point.
  22. I... like the idea but don't know how it would be received by the majority of players. I suggest we try it for a few days, maybe with a message that this is an experiment and please give feedback on the forums.
  23. Deary me, how did I not notice that the legendary Sir Jere, ESL teacher to the stars, had deigned to grace our humble forum? Wilkum Jer! Tims ver bad.
  24. I find it's enough in my peripheral vision that I don't really have to actively look at it to know roughly what direction an alert is. Also, because I rifle nade so much, my attention is all over the screen - where I'm aiming and what I'm aiming at can be two very different things. Sticking to the centre of the screen is for you hit-scanners
