I had issues also with vista after the win xp, so this is what I have also used for years without any problems. The one with the ultimate ET installer works on my laptop also with win 8.1.

Soundcard updated? Try increasing the rate to 45000 Clean your et folders from any not needed maps/pk3's (etmain + mod folders + old mod versions, delete etpub folder and let it load fresh from server) Reinstall ET

As from tomorrow, I will become more inactive for personal reasons and therefore someone else needs to take my place and be here for you with your ups and downs. There is only one that fills the reguirements I and Ailmanki were looking for and that person is Freak. He is here all the time anyways and gets along with ppl and manages to keep his head cool, so therefore he is the right man for this job. I will be on the background helping him to get things going on and assisting with the trials and members levels if needed, but the rest is up to Freak. Congratulations mate, you do excellent work and I know I leave the clan in good hands!

I did also a search after the xfire announcement and I found Raptr. It is similar to steam and has also the chat system: http://raptr.com/ With etstarter I do recall a thing: if you need to uninstall it, read carefully how to do it correct, otherwise your et wont work if you use the patch selector feature.

Try delete etpro folder and connect then again. Run et as admin? Reinstall game using the full installer if it wont work otherwise.

Dont forget r_displayrefresh "yourscreenmaxgoeshere" and if you have a Ati card r_primitives "2" if you get low fps, dont know if this is fixed yet.
