If your intention is to spectate a specific player, this command will work as well (and also won't show who you are spectating in the public chat)

/follow name

I get kicked for not being in spec, idling.  Do they seriously think I'm gonna use 100000 dpi to click on the spec button!?

I am confused what you are asking for? Do you want a button to put yourself spec? or did someone kick you off the server for being in spec when server was full?

open !spec command?

What is your name in the game?

I believe I know what you mean, you keep going AFK so someone moves you, but because your mouse settings are crazy you can’t manually put yourself to spec.

So you are asking if you can open the console and type a command to put yourself to spec?

If you want to switch teams, you can use the /team command without having to use your mouse.

Axis: /team r or /team axis

Allies: /team b or /team allies

Spectator: /team s

TM members only.  Bit sad in this day of age.

Agree. What Charlie mean that only members can put himself and others to spec, but there should be an option for nonmembers to put himself to spec to avoid people being afk at the beginning of round. @Eagle_cz

/bind [KEY] team s

OR

Press L, then click spectator.

OR

drop console and type /team s.

Not sure how you think this can be made any easier by adding an other command.
